Founder, Tarangini Foundation

Tapasya Sharma is the driving force behind Tarangini Foundation. With a deep-rooted passion for environmental conservation and community development, she envisioned an organization that doesn't just clean rivers but transforms mindsets.

"Nature doesn't need us, we need nature. My mission is to make every individual realize their role in protecting the environment, one wave at a time."

OUR STORY

How It All Began

The journey of Tarangini Foundation from a spark of concern to a movement of change

Our Story
Since 2024

A Call from the River

Tarangini Foundation was born from a simple yet powerful observation — our rivers were choking, our forests were shrinking, and our communities were disconnected from the environment they depended on.

The name "Tarangini" — derived from the Hindi word for waves — symbolizes the continuous, flowing nature of our work. Just as waves reshape shorelines over time, we believe persistent community action can reshape our environmental landscape.

What started as small clean-up drives along the Ghaggar River in Haryana has grown into a multi-faceted environmental organization engaging thousands of volunteers, students, and community members across the state.

"We don't just clean rivers — we ignite a sense of responsibility towards nature in every individual we touch."

Started with River Cleanup

Our first initiative was cleaning the Ghaggar River, which sparked a larger movement

Community First Approach

Every initiative is designed around community participation and ownership
